Let’s talk about dementia!

Today, the Alzheimer Society is launching a new campaign, “See me, not my disease. Let’s talk about dementia.”

Did you know that today, 747,000 Canadians are living with dementia and with our aging population, this number is growing every day? Chances are that you know or will know someone with dementia in your lifetime.

Surprisingly though, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are misunderstood. Many are misinformed and stereotypes of people with dementia are common.
This year, let’s change the conversation. Let’s talk about dementia.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Test your attitude – Find out where you stand. Our quiz offers six common situations and asks how you would handle them. There are no wrong answers, but your responses may surprise you

  • Hear what others are saying – Learn more about dementia from people living with the disease. Listen to their candid stories in these short video clips.
